TOURISM ECONOMIC IMPACT

Economic Input is only a part of the study

Sometimes, the amount spent on attending the event does not accurately reflect the value of the event to attendees and should be considered to be a lower bound of actual value.

The other types of benefits (beyond economic input) that might be generated by events and festivals.  these other types of benefits are commonly referred to as non-market values or benefits

Non-market values or benefits

...can include the contribution an event or festival might make to

  • community pride;

  • the maintenance of social and cultural;

  • the physical and mental health of community residents; and

  • individual happiness of artists and performers

The current project provides a review of non-market value estimation for festivals and events
